Our Story

It was amidst the captivating vistas of Albuquerque, NM, that fate, disguised as the Air Force, orchestrated a serendipitous encounter between Chris and Stephanie. Little did they imagine that their professional orbits would intersect in such a picturesque setting, igniting sparks of camaraderie that blossomed into romance.

Traveling and laughing brought Chris and Stephanie together. They share fond memories of Red Rivers, NM on a windy night where Chris dragged a tree across the desert sands to keep the fire roaring and the hot toddy's warm. They laugh remembering training for the first Bataan Death March (a marathon) they trained for together, with Stephanie roller blading tens of miles along the Rio Grande as Chris rucked alongside. They rejoice at finding someone who appreciates the small moments in life: from relaxing atop a rock on a hike up Bear Canyon, NM to hanging out with the cats and enjoying a sleepy Sunday morning together.

Their taste for adventure expanded as they ventured across the West from the majestic peaks of Colorado to colorful landscapes of Arizona. They then set their sights overseas to the misty moors of Scotland, the enchanting lanes of England, and the poetic valleys of Wales during a magical sojourn through the United Kingdom. The month-long international road trip was exhilarating and culminated in starting to plan for an engagement!

Fast forward 6 months and Chris proposed on yet another road trip from Colorado to Virginia. Stephanie being the planner that she is, she thought she had set up her own proposal, but Chris changed the plan ever so slightly so that she would not suspect. Riding down the Blue Ridge Parkway, Chris pulled off to a scenic overlook where he dropped to one knee. Stephanie immediately said yes, promising eternal devotion to their love.

Chris and Stephanie were geographically separated for 5 months before deciding that an elopement would be best for them before embarking on their ongoing long-distance journey. Las Vegas is close to their hearts as a couple and was the perfect place for the two of them to elope together; in a private ceremony surrounded by the echos of their whispered vows, Chris and Stephanie pledged their lives to one another. The couple will continue to test their affection across miles and time over the first year of their marriage.
